How it began

We published a book, containing only lined notebook pages, in October 2013, having a dig at the then Education Secretary as a bit of fun and promoted it on Twitter. It hit the streets around the time of the teacher strikes and was hailed by the teaching fraternity as the perfect Christmas gift for colleagues in the annual Secret Santa.

Imagining sales would stall after Christmas, we didn't do any further promotion and were amazed that right up until the cabinet reshuffle in July 2014, where poor Mr. Gove found himself relegated to Chief Whip, it continued to sell.

So, with what we had learnt from the Gove notebook, we decided there was a market for other notebooks, which differ from the norm, and Silly Notebooks was launched on the first day of September 2014.
